Actually, the grade distribution on the class evals are not the grade distribution in the class, but what the students think of the course. There is also evidence of gender and racial bias. Is there any suggestions to look at. Are they really blocking people from finishing their semester unless they complete the course evals? Grad courses are seldom less than 4.5. As students mature and get into “interesting” 4000 level courses, we see that most faculty get around a 4.1.
